I, Jagajit Singh state:-

I started with ten men from San Francisco to Hong-

-kong by the 8. 8. "Chiyo Maru". Six of these men were deported by

the United States Government. Five out of these six men belong to

the Revolutionary party. Their names are:-

1. Dharm Singh, 20 years, Ratainda Village and Post Office Nawasher

tehsil Jullundur,

2. Bhulla,

18 years, same village etc. as (1) Dharm Singh.

3. Harnam Singh,25 years, same village etc. as (1) and (2).

4. Varyam Singh, 26 years, Kharar Achcharwal village, Post 0. Mahalpur

Hosiarpur.

5. Jowala Singh, 36 years, Guddé Village, Lahore tehsil and district.

The above men left the ship at Yokohama. The follow

-ing passengers also left the Chiyo Maru at Yokohama.

6. H. E. Pandian, 22 years, Madrassi, wears spectacles a student of Berkeley University. I knew him for three years in San Francisco. Hardial and Parmanand M.A. (arrested in Lahore conspiracy case) used to live with him. He was refused a passport by the British Consul in San Francisco. In 1913 and 1914 he spent his vacation at Jersey Island working in the field aid practising and teaching Hindoos shooting with rifles. He preached Anti-British propaganda to Hindus in Califomia. He was a friend of Pingļi (sentenced to death in Lahore) and when Pingli left U.S.A. for India in 1913 Pandian and his friends in Stockton University gave him a dinner. He lectured with Hardial at Berkeley University against British Government in Sacramento in 1913. Then Pandian landed in Yokohama I saw him walking with a Bengali, Mosum Dar, a friend of Bhagwan Singh and the leader of "Ghadr" in Japan. He is knom to the British Consul in Yokohama. A man named Naranjan Das came down to the Chiyo Maru in Yokohama to enquire for Pandian. I know Narajan Das very well. He was a circulator of the "Ghadr in San Francisco. He was sent by the Ghadr party in July to preach "Ghadr" in India but became frightened and stopped in Yokohama. I do not know by what ship he will leave
